15″ & 7/14″ Gauge ‘EFFIE’

This Large Engine is based on the forerunner of most narrow gauge locomotives. The original was designed and built in 1875 by Sir Arthur Heywood for his experimental 15” Gauge Dyffield Bank Railway.

This engine is of a very simple design using a marine type boiler with outside cylinders – Thus offering easy relaxed driving and very simple maintenance. Much like the full size version built by us in 2000, the model version will pull heavy loads, either in the way of a number of passenger carriages or other locomotives. This locomotive has extremely good track adhesive weight, hence is high performance values.

This type of engine is ideal as a crowd puller for both private track days or as a commercial operator.

We are in the final stages of completing the first 7 ¼” Gauge Model – please contact us for more details.
