A light steam tractor design, based on Fosters 1906 4 TON Single Cylinder Engine. The engine has 3 Shafts, 2 Speed with a single drive to the rear axle.Chosen for its manageable size, pleasing proportions and availability of components.
The Foster offers a perfect combination of Size, Speed and manoeuvrability. We feel the Foster is the perfect engine for 21st Century Roads. With the first models now well tested and approved with some 40 mile road runs under its belt!
Like many engines of this size the Foster Wellington is extremely easy to maintain and can be operated by one man.
The Foster can be constructed to follow many of the original features, however with many more road friendly features, including larger belly tanks and larger capacity tenders to increase road range.
