GNS MOVE INTO ‘BIOMASS STEAM PLANT TECHNOLOGY’

GNS MOVE INTO ‘BIOMASS STEAM PLANT TECHNOLOGY’

>>’INVESTORS REQUIRED – BECOME PART OF THE FUTURE & HELP OTHERS’<<

Here at GNS we are looking at developing a ‘Biomass Steam Plant’ for generation of ‘Electricity’ for use either in ‘Third World Developing Countries’ or for use in ‘Disaster & Emergency’ situations such as the current crisis in Pakistan, or alternatively for private residential use where electricity is restricted and where there is a supply of Biomass Fuel Product, such as Timber Waste, of which there is a huge over supply globally of waste wood product.

We are looking at developing a single plant that can be easily moved and operated in all corners of the World. The plant would have the capacity to generate enough electricity to power a single property in the UK (2KW), or the equivalent of a small village in Africa, or a similar location or would give lighting for upwards of 150 Low Energy Lights in an Emergency situation. This could also be used to Power Single Properties, Hospitals, Charge Batteries or for refrigeration for cold storage use, of which as you are probably aware is a major concern in the third world and the developing countries. We estimate the size of the unit will be approximately 1mtr x 1mtr and weigh under 50kg, and be easily assembled on site and in operational use within minutes. Remember the key fact being there is NO need for Petrol or Any type of oil based fuel for operational purposes.

To give you some background on this topic both Mark & Keith Ashton (Directors) looked at this area of opportunity about 10 Years ago but were not in a position to move this type of project forward at the time due to other business commitments. However with the growing demand for Biomass variations across the globe we now feel there has never been a better time to move this type of project forward.

GNS have applied to the ‘Carbon Trust Research Programme’ for a grant for the development work, but would be looking for Individual Financial  Investment to help support the build of the Power Plant itself. The opportunities from this could potentially be massive on a global scale, especially in third world countries as I would think that the demand by International Charities, such as UNICEF and the BRITISH RED CROSS to buy into this type of product as the plant could be easily and quickly put into operation in areas of need. The plant would be developed as a single operating unit either for mobile use on a trailer, or for a static facility of which would be also strong enough to be airlifted and dropped into areas of need quickly.

The plant would also have the advantage of not only generating electricity but have the ability to operate other forms of equipment either from a ‘Flywheel Type Design’ (belt operated) or with a ‘Power Take Off System’ (PTO), hence the need for the specific design requirements.

Nobody currently has developed a Biomass System for this type of use, most Biomass systems are on a huge scale, generating electricity for Industry, reverting the unused power (Electricity) back to the national grid for a return on their investment.

The Boiler itself can be found commercially, modified and redesigned for our purposes, however the ‘Power Plant’ itself would need to be developed, hence the reason for the research grant and the project funding.

We estimate that if the funding for development is available, we will utilise the services of the local university for additional development capacity. The initial Plant itself we estimate will cost in the region of £40K-£65K. We would hope to reduce this amount substantially once the plant has been developed and tested to within a fraction of this cost once in full production.

If this type of project is of some interest to you and you would like to be part of this fantastic development opportunity and the financial benefits this could give to not only ourselves and our investors, but add to the quality of life of others across the globe.

We Look forward to hearing from you – Please email or call, biomass@greatnorthernsteam.co.uk

GNS START BUILDING NEW ‘FLYING SCOTSMAN’

Here at GNS we are always looking for new projects and we have have just started the first part of an 18month project to build the first NEW 15″ Gauge A3 Pacific Flying Scotsman for Export to New South Wales in Australia. We are not aware of any replica A3 Locomotives that have been build since the early 1970’s and a locomotive of this size will be a real ‘Eye-Full’ once completed. We have this week ordered the Initial Stock of materials to hopefully have the Boiler C0mpleted and signed off for approval before the end of the year.

We have commissioned David Elliott chief design engineer of ‘Tornado Fame’, to head up the design team for this project. David has just completed the Boiler Design and is currently working together with our own team of designers on the Chassis Stretcher and WheelSets. The Locomotive will have a Separate Ride on Tender for Water and Coal Storage, together with three 10/12 Seater carriages. Once complete the locomotive will be shipped directly to it’s New Owner in Australia. GNS have also been commissioned to Supply the 3km’s of track needed to run this fabulous new locomotive.

The Overal Length of the locomotive and Tender will be 17′-9 1/2″

Boiler Working Pressure: 160 Psi / Bore: 04.75″/ Stroke 6.5″ – Design Speed: 25Mph – Maximum Speed >30 MPH (Subject to Load & Conditions)

Jenny Agutter at Bedford Supporting the CF Trust

It was a real honour for us at GNS to be involved in the building of ‘Ciffy’, one of the first NEW 6″ TASKER STEAM TRACTORS, of which has been donanted to the Charity to raise funds during 2010 onwards. Ciffy will be around the UK offering rides and a chance to ‘Blow the Whistle’ for a £1 donation. All proceeds will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.  Please help support this charity – Visit www.cftrust.org.uk for more.

GNS are pleased to be supporting the CF Trust…..

GNS have recently delivered the first 6″ Tasker Steam Tractor “Ciffy” to help raise funds for the trust during the forth coming years….’Ciffy’ will be on tour around the UK offering rides to children for a small donation of 50p to help raise awareness of this illness – During the Bedford Steam Show, we were pleased to be able to invite Jenny Agutter (Patron of the CF Trust) to make the handover even more special. Bernard & Jan Akin who have a daughter who suffers from this illness and who have made this possible will be spending time steaming-up ‘Ciffy’ from next year – We understand Ciffy will have it’s own website online soon and will communicate where and when it will be out & about next year……

We have created the first four models that will go head-to-head with the kit builders in the market – GNS Said: “Why gamble away your money on building your own when for a small amount of money extra our team of professional engineers can build you a true to life model replica” Over the past few years we have seen this market explode and GNS are now the World Leaders in this market! – “Here at GNS Build Engines to be admired on the rally circuit, so don’t gamble on a ‘kit that will always be a kit’, buy a REAL TRACTION ENGINE that is built with traditional methods in mind and built to last, not made of components mass produced in a factory in China!…..Buy the Best, by GNS!”

p10002651We will be at Dorset Again this year so please visit us at the Vintage Spirit and Old Glory Stands! – Look forward to seeing you there + We will have ‘Special Offers’ ONLY available at the 2009 Dorset Show! – Its definitely worth a visit this year!
